31st October 2006Going to try and summon Dr Dee tonight :) 24th May 2006Not exactly scryable, but possibly of interest to some here. London's heart of stone By Sean Coughlan BBC News Magazine Last Updated: Monday, 22 May 2006, 12:31 GMT 13:31 UK The mysterious "London stone" is going to be rescued from a building due to be demolished. Does it mean that London is going to be saved from an ancient legend? ![]() . . . Queen Elizabeth I's adviser and occultist, John Dee, was obsessed by the stone, believing that it had magic powers. 28th January 2006Does anyone have some good scrying techniques they'd like to share, or books they'd recommend on the topic? I'm pretty new at it, using a bowl filled with seawater lit by candles. I'd especially be interested in learning more about Dee and Kelley's techniques. Thanks! 24th March 2005I went ahead and paid the £1 for the full text of the article from 12/31/2004 in The Independent. It does say: "A rare 16th-century crystal ball that once belonged to John Dee, an adviser to Elizabeth I, and papers relating to his work were stolen from the Science Museum. Its items were, however, recovered. A man has been has been charged with theft." The context is a list of recent museum thefts. I think this is pretty clear. I'd love to know more details; I can't believe the English yellow press didn't eat this story up. Perhaps any UK contacts could find out more? 30th January 2005Recent information seems to indicate that Dee's Crystal has been recovered, though independent verification has not been attained yet. Meanwhile feel free to post regarding all aspects of Crystallomancy and consider sharing with others in this community by answering the following questions: Do you have a Crystal Ball? Or do you use some other method for scrying? How often do you use your crystal? On a regular basis, or 'when the need arises'? What kinds of protocols do you observe when scrying? Atmosphere? Music? Ritual? Read any good books about the subject? Are you willing to conduct an experiment from afar with other occultists with scrying devices? Yes, Please, Do Tell . . . . . 19th January 2005While the Crystal Ball is a well known tool for scrying there are other means to accomplish such 'vision'. A Bowl of Water [sometimes with ink poured in]. Ink in the palm of the hand. A Black Mirror. John Dee had two crystal balls and an obsidian black mirror. AleisterCrowley used a large topaz set in a cross. I have used both obsidian and crystal in my own scrying and have had the best results with the dark mirrors/spheres. What method or device do you use? Also if you are aware of what other famous occultists may have used please share. Here are 2 news items relating to Dee's Crystal. Times On-line article Scotsman article If you know of any others please put them in the comments. This includes on-line and printed accounts. My Fellow Occultists, Dr. John Dee's Crystal has been STOLEN! Dee's 'Angelickal Stone', in which the Enochian Language was communicated, is arguably the single most important artifact in occult history. This is a significant event and is worthy of our attention and investigation. What does this theft signify? Who took the Crystal and what is it being used for? Perhaps most of all, we wonder, where is Dee's Crystal now? This community serves as an information node to gather all information relating to Dee's Crystal, including any news articles, history, and scrying reports. Open to all but Crystal-gazers especially welcome. Please join us in the search . . . Sebastian Kant |
